Hole In The Rock, Phoenix/Tempe, AZ

‘Hey, since you’re in the area you should go see the Hole in the Rock!’, was the recommendation when I had an unexpected opening in my schedule before heading back to Los Angeles. I usually take whatever local recommendations that come along my way, so I packed up and decided to stop by this hole before heading back to Los Angeles.
The name of the place is literal, haha. It is really a hole in a rock! HITR is located in Papago Park, which I believe sits on both Phoenix and Tempe (hence the post title). You can do a very easy hike that goes around and behind the rock to get to the hole opening. The climb isn’t steep at all. You can get a good view of Phoenix and enjoy some great photo ops.
