The Bird Mom
Hi, hello! This is probably the hardest part to fill out for the site. I am a 30 something-year-old bird mom, currently residing in Los Angeles. I manage the three birds, a doggo, and the birbdad. I have memories of owning a pair of society finches with my older brother when I was 10 years old. My grandparents lived in the countryside where they raised a few chickens and a pet goose, but other than that, I’ve never had much contact with birds my entire life… well, not until I met Chewie. Other than my association with the birds, I live a pretty typical life. I graduated with a degree in Political Science, held a few odd jobs, tried the entrepreneurial route (failed), and ended up working a 9-5 job, first in marketing, but now at a tech company, mostly doing work I find so hard to explain because it’s too conceptual. If you’ve been following the account, you’ll probably notice there’s an awful lot of books and plants all over the background. I like reading and collecting tropical plants, so… hopefully that explains the background?! 🙂 I’m also interested in art and have tried to pursue a hobby in actually producing some artworks myself, but I think I’m better at appreciating art.
In my previous life, I was a youtube beauty “guru” (quotation marks because I always squirmed at the word guru), and ceased making videos shortly after I got Chewie – this period coincides with when I decided to hunker down and get serious about my career. I travel a lot for work so that eliminates a lot of my want/need to travel on a personal level. Most weekends are spent staying home and just chilling with my birds.
